The Nomadic Alternative

Dornod, Mongolia — “Here, try this,” says the man handing the driver some sort of cord.  Bus breakdowns are frequent in Mongolia.  This one broke down four times, and a journey of six hours stretched into eleven.  I saw them fixing something in the engine using string.  But almost everywhere the country is scenic, even spectacular.  No matter where the bus breaks it’s a pleasant place to sit on the grass enjoying the view.
